In my last posts, I mentioned that I take quetiapine and that I need to ask about some other anxiety medications. Two days ago, in addition to quetiapine XR 250 mg at a fixed time, I was given 25 mg IR an hour before bedtime. I also got tablets with pregabalin 75 mg to take on an ad hoc basis for anxiety. I did not test pregabalin, but quetiapine before bedtime is not necessary when I sleep well, so I won't take it. Quetiapine limits the functioning of the brain so that you can have one or two thoughts at a time and you don't have the willpower to pick up your phone to reply to a message. Pretty good. I think these drugs can be addictive but I don't really care if I get addicted. The doctor said that if pregabalin would not work well, he could think about giving me something that has a higher addictive potential, but works practically always. I'm pretty sure he meant benzodiazepines. I am also almost certain he thought about it because it was a private consultation, fully paid for and expensive. There are more restrictions on prescribing narcotics on the healthcare fund, and doctors are more understanding on expensive paid visits.
